Pochoir > 2008 - 9 Daily Transit series

This series contains 350 pochoir prints. One print was completed each day for 350 days. This project implemented daily practice to accumulate a travel narrative that slowly developed over time. The pochoir technique was used to address themes of transition and mobility within the public sphere. These structural images are a simplification of the complex and paradoxical atmosphere of public spaces that facilitate travel: places that are cold, emotionally charged, dehumanizing yet full of personal experience. Each overlay of shape and color responds to the simplified and functional architectural properties of airports and other structures associated with public transportation. They are each 7.5" x 6", pochoir on paper, completed in 2009.
